The job

Harvest Digital would like to hear from talented and dedicated web developers looking to work within a dynamic and creative environment, right in the heart of Soho.

We are looking for an experienced web developer - with a computer science or internet related degree and an agency background - to join us on a full time basis.

This is an integral role - we require a strong conceptual thinker, with the ability to take ideas and/or mock ups and visualize how to execute in code, with attention to detail for design and user experience.

The candidate will be able to demonstrate an expertise in cross-browser compatibility issues and a thorough understanding of current HTML standards and best practices, including user interaction and optimization for the web and show a flair for creative client-side scripting with an appreciation of server-side technologies. High motivation and self-direction with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and make appropriate decisions is crucial.

 

You

Core skills will include:

• Top quality HTML, CSS and Javascript skills (need to see examples)
• Rapid agile prototyping of visual design candidates, interactive behaviours and layouts
• Extensive use of JQuery and bespoke Javascript libraries
• HTML / CSS - accessible and to W3C standards, with SEO understanding

Highly desirable skills will include:

• Experience of LAMP stack development: PHP5, MySQL - incl. sys admin
• Demonstrable use of OO and MVC design patterns - ideally with Symfony framework
• Open source exposure, such as - Wordpress, Drupal, ModX, Magento, OSCommerce, Expression Engine

Other skills that will be considered beneficial include:

• Agile project management methologies, SVN, Trac
• API development and integration
• Facebook App development, iPhone App development, Flash/ Action Script development
• Google Website Optimiser and Analytics
